Volunteers:

- Sometimes get invites to after parties and organizer events!
- Opening (7:00pm)
- Door shifts (8pm, 9pm, 10pm, and 11pm)
- Tear-down (12:00am)
The Opening shift starts before our dance event does and involves hanging up lights, helping to carry in the speakers and mixers, and getting the area ready for dancing!
Door shifts involve welcoming in the dancers as they come in, accepting their entrance fees, issuing them a wristband, and pointing them to the nearest organizer should they have any questions. You can sit down for this shift, and other dancers often come by to chat, so many door shift volunteers consider this a welcome break in the middle of a busy night of dancing.
Closing/tear-down doesn’t take the full hour. It’s pretty much the opposite of opening. Speakers and mixers have to be moved out, trash taken out, etc. Closers have also been known to go out and seek 12am munchies after the dance, keeping the party going!
